Building Ecologically with hollow woodchip-concrete blocks

Hollow woodchip-concrete blocks - an excellent product, extensively tried and tested and used successfully for decades. The building industry in Europe would have had one less building material alternative without this innovative and natural building product. Noise insulation, heat storage, acoustic insulation and vapour diffusion along with fire resistance an earthquake safety are just some of its most outstanding qualities.

Wood is considered by many people to be the typical building material. However also concrete, a mouldable material made of cement, sand and gravel, has the same composition as many stone deposits found naturally. The natural raw material cement is used by ISOSPAN Ltd. as a binding agent for the woodchip in the wood-concrete block production process.

With the help carbon contained in the woodchip, the ISOSPAN hollow wood-chip-concrete blocks and insulating panels actively draw the greenhouse gas out of the atmosphere. Thus the ISOSPAN woodchip conrete blocks and insulating panels bring us a large step closer to the environmental goal of reducing C02 emissions.

Woodchip-concrete blocks are therefore the perfect synthesis of the natural building materials of wood and stone in a modern an innovative form.
